Knowledge and Skills into Practice
Bronwyn Roane and Dr Katie Brown
The Implementation Steering Group (ISG) met today, including a session with Mark Jones to talk about current racial trauma work and putting it into practice with lived experience engagement.
Mark discussed with members what the literature tells us about the experience of racial trauma; and the need to embrace the complexity of this in practical delivery knowledge and training; sharing experience of delivering training in Criminal Justice.
This informative session gave members the opportunity to consider how our work intersects and aligns with an anti-racist Wales and commitments developing knowledge around racial trauma, and the lived experience of it.
The ISG is committed to offering a spotlight session to our working group co-chairs at our meetings and the Knowledge and Skills into Practice working group were the first to go today.
Co-chairs Katie Brown from Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health Board and Bronwyn Roane from the ACE Hub discussed their vision for the group and how they will draw on recommendations from recent research to support their plans for delivery.
