Being Trauma-informed: Language, Meaning, and Culture in Wales

Over the past two decades, trauma-informed approaches have become increasingly embedded within policy and practice across a wide range of sectors in Wales. Central to these approaches is language. The terms used to describe trauma, safety, trust, and recovery shape how professionals understand experiences of adversity and how systems respond to them.
